Old Spanish Days 2014

Santa Barbara’s Old Spanish Days celebration is right around the corner and begins next Wednesday July 30th until August 3rd. As many of you know there are a lot of great activities that happen during Fiesta that are family friendly and tons of fun. We have compiled a list of our favorite Fiesta events to share with you and we hope to see you next weekend.


La Fiesta Pequeña; – “The Little Fiesta” officially opens Old Spanish Days on the steps of Santa Barbara’s historic Old Mission. This event features Fiesta’s traditional songs and dances: tunes of the Californios, Flamenco, Spanish classical and Mexican folklórico dances. Food is available for purchase from local vendors.

Opening Night, Wednesday July 30th @ 8pm





20090816215315__dsc7456-editEl Mercado de la Guerra – Stroll through a colorful Mexican market (across from City Hall) to feast on Spanish and Mexican American foods with proceeds supporting local Santa Barbara County non-profits, shop for crafts and souvenirs, and enjoy live entertainment all day and into the early evening.

Open Daily from 10am – 11pm.






fiesta-parade-2009-santa-barbara2El Desfile Histórico – The Fiesta Historical Parade is one of the largest equestrian parades in the United States. The parade starts at the west end of Cabrillo Boulevard, proceeds east along the beach, to State Street, then up State Street to Sola Street. Viewing the Parade is free but there are shaded Reserved Seats available for $15.00 Call (805) 962-8101 to purchase Reserved Seats.

Early arrival is suggested, parade begins at 12pm.





New_26_thumb83rd Annual El Desfile De Los Niños (Children’s Parade) – The charming Children’s Parade is organized by the City Parks and Recreation Department. Young people of Santa Barbara, their parents, and other parade participants don traditional costumes and celebrate the rich culture of the area. Parade proceeds down State Street, from Victoria Street to Ortega Street. Viewing the parade is free.

Early arrival is suggested, parade begins at 10am.
